Do you get the sense of wild strawberry and juicy cherry, infused with pink rose and sandalwood? A delicious nose, don’t you think?
The palate, creamy and sweet, revealing fruity strawberry and floral notes of violet. The tannins are present, but fine and elegant. Do you detect a lot of roundness and a nice balance between power and freshness?
The bud break started at the end of March. Then, beginning of June, the flowering was accompanied by record rainfall. A cool and humid summer led to a slow veraison and ripening, before the harvest took place from the 23rd of September to the 7th of October. The thermal inertness of the clay soils of Saint-Estèphe was a real asset for the Pez vineyard in 2021.
