The First Wine

2022

Can you sense those mineral notes of gunflint and cedar? With fruity nuances of raspberry and blackcurrant. Aromas of licorice come to the fore, mingled with hints of spice, particularly cinnamon.

The palate is full-bodied, rich and generous. Do you get the sense of those fresh notes of licorice and black cherry? Do you like those polished tannins and this long finish?

The dry and warm spring was propitious to flowering in late May under excellent conditions. Unfortunately, June was very unsettled and wet, with severe hailstorms affecting significantly Pez. A long heatwave and drought conditions set in from early July onwards. In mid-August, 25 mm of rainfall, which, was nevertheless conducive to ripening. Harvests began on 7 September until 26 September.
