The First Wine
2017Striking, isn’t it?
With those chocolate
notes giving way to red fruit,
cedar, graphite
and lastly cinnamon…
Aromas of strawberry
and cherry come to the fore.
It starts out clean
and sumptuous on the palate!
And those smooth,
silky, precise notes
culminate in a salty
finish with floral nuances (violet)...
Can you sense that mineral tension,
that polished tannic texture?
Bud break began
in late March.
The dry spring with
warm spells prompted flowering
and then véraison in early July.
The summer rains encouraged
slow ripening,
before the harvest took place
from the 12th of September to the 3rd of October.
